Kelu, a young Adivasi girl, living Tamil Nadu, is given the special job of collecting flowers to fall from the flag when it is raised for festival day. She embarks on an adventurous journey by following the ghostly footprints of a tiger into the forest in search of wild flowers, and encounters many of its inhabitants. Maps and a glossary are included, and the big book version points up its environmental theme with teachers' notes and suggested activities.
