This traditional tale from West Africa - with cut-paper style illustration in bold colours - tells how a small tortoise outwits a fierce leopard. Osebo, the leopard, has a huge drum which he guards jealously and even refuses to let Nyame the Sky-God borrow it. Alone of all the animals, the tortoise defeats the leopard, and when he present the drum to the Sky-God, he cleverly choses a hard protective shell as his reward.
