At the outset of a new school year, a girl's first day of wearing a hijab to her Year 7 class is seen through the eyes of her younger sister, Faizah, who is mesmerised by the lovely blue of Asiya's headscarf and believes it makes her look as special as a princess. She looks forward to the time when she too will be of an age to wear a hijab, something her mother teaches them is worn with pride, a symbol of respect for their Muslim faith which gives them strength and the ability to disregard any ignorant or bullying comment. A reassuring picture book about identity and self worth.
