It discusses topics such as migration, work, values, religion, music, art and culture, and addresses the issue of persecution and prejudice. The text is well illustrated with many photographs and includes a glossary of Gypsy words, a timeline and index. It offers a detailed and sympathetic portrait of a threatened minority and their culture.
