Food We Eat, The An informative and clearly laid out information book which looks at the culturally different foods children eat and how some of these are produced. Each double page spread, illustrated with lots of colourful photographs, explores an aspect of what we eat: from staples such as rice, to treats such as the delicious sweets eaten during Divali, the honeycomb harvested by the hunter gatherer Baka people or the simple enjoyment of fish and chips eaten by the seaside. There is a poignant double page on those children who regularly go hungry and a reference to homeless Brazilian children who rely on food from charity workers. Includes a map indicating the countries referenced, a glossary and an index.
